Coos Bay, Oregon.

With departure set for tomorrow, we found ourselves with a free day today and the opportunity to attend the second and final day of the 18th Annual Salmon Festival. We learned cultural arts like weaving and different methods of cooking salmon, and we met canoe families that came from afar to compete in the races. Dinner was with the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians. They invited us into their traditional Tribal Plankhouse where we shared stories, songs and dance.

We turned in early as come morning we have to leave this special place that was unplanned but we were fortunate to choose.
