Hōkūleʻa to Depart Hanalei for Nāwiliwili One Day Early Due to Weather

Due to the tropical cyclone that has formed to the east southeast of the Hawaiian Islands, Hōkūleʻa and crew will depart Hanalei today, a day ahead of schedule, for Nāwiliwili. According to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center, the Hawaiian Islands could be impacted by heavy rain and wind starting on Saturday. Based on this information, PVS leadership decided it would be safest for the canoe to be docked at Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor ahead of these weather conditions.

Hōkūleʻa will depart Hanalei at approximately 3pm today and is expected to arrive at Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor at 8am tomorrow morning.

The current schedule for public canoe tours is listed below but may be postponed/canceled due to weather. The public is encouraged to check the @hokuleacrew Instagram and Facebook or hokulea.com for the latest updates.
