Bio
Kaohi’s first time on a waʻa kaulua was on Hōkūleʻa in 2009. Over the years, she says “Hōkūleʻa has provided me the opportunity to learn about my ancestors, myself, other cultures, and of the surrounding natural world.”
When asked what she would like to see accomplished by voyaging, she replied “I hope that people will feel inspired to practice unconventional learning methods.”
When Kaohi is out at sea she misses ice cream cones. And when sheʻs back in her everyday life, what she misses most about being at sea is “watching the sun both rise and set.”
